Basil agrees, although he is up in the air about it. It soon turns out to be a grave mistake. When Lewis’s parachutes don’t open, he urns his place as the funeral home’s next body.
The police suspect murder, and their main suspect is Basil. Laurel buries herself in sifting through the clues. Can she solve the crime before she becomes the next victim?

All Morgana Best books are clean cozy mysteries.
This is a cozy mystery. It is a clean read, a supernatural mystery.

Make the Ghost of It Funny Cozy Mystery Series Witch Woods Funeral Home Book 3 edition by Morgana Best Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks

Make the Ghost of It is the third installment in Morgana Best's Witch Woods Funeral Home Series. In this story we find that things are progressing nicely between Laurel and her accountant, Basil, when he brings a friend from college by to meet her. While her mother, Thelma, is fully enamored of Lewis Lowes, Laurel is rather put off. When she learns that Basil and Lewis are going skydiving, she is none too happy. But when Lewis crashes into her mother's roof when his parachutes fail to open and Basil is the primary suspect, Laurel is beyond upset.

When Lewis turns up as a ghost to see Laurel and Basil, the search for the real killer begins in earnest. With an array of suspects, Laurel busily seeks the answer as she simultaneously works to whip the apartment above the funeral home into a shape she can inhabit, finally escaping her mother's clutches.

In a story laced with humor and filled with mystery, Morgana Best brings this series to a pleasant stopping point. But still, you have to hope there will be more stories from the Witch Woods funeral home. I enjoyed this book, as I did the rest, and do recommend it.

Make the Ghost of It Funny Cozy Mystery Series Witch Woods Funeral Home Book 3 edition by Morgana Best Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

So thankful that Laurel has moved out of Mom's house, albeit for a ghostly reason, as a parachutist plummets to his death on Mom's roof. Murder, suicide or accident, Laurel needs to figure it all out as her new (hopefully) boyfriend is arrested for murder. I love the cute little chuckles that Morgana inserts throughout the story
Once again Laurel Bay finds herself a witness to a murder. This time her new boyfriend, Basil, is the prime suspect sending Laurel on a mission to find out who murdered Lewis. This series is really growing. Laurel is taking charge of her life as well as her funeral business. Now, if she can find a way to deal with her overbearing mother, this series would be perfect. Looking forward to the next book. If you enjoy cozy mysteries, give this series a try.
Another hilarious book covering Laurel, Thelma, Ian and Basil.
In the beginning, Thelma, Ian and John Jones see the Second Coming of Christ...not really but hope runs deep...
Laurel gets fed up with Thelma and moves out of Thelma's house...
Basil is accused of murdering his friend Lewis...
And the good times roll from there!
Read it--you'll like it!
They say small miracles happen every day. And that is exactly how I feel about 'stumbling' upon Morgana and her cozy mysteries. If you are looking for a little adventure, a light-hearted read with quirky characters facing out of the ordinary circumstances, then this would be perfect for you. I loved it!
Make A Ghost of It is Book 3 in Morgana Best's Witch Woods Funeral Home series. I was worried for a while because Laurel's beau, Basil, is being accused of murdering his old college friend. Every time Laurel and Basil get near each other, the police come along to pick him up for questioning or something worse. Things fly along so swiftly that Laurel's mother doesn't get much of a chance to mess things up as usual. I wouldn't mind going to an Elvis Funeral, but, the Wizard of Oz with Toto!!! Thank goodness the ghost in this book is a little better at figuring things out than most ghosts seem to be. Again, I read it in one sitting and highly recommend it to anyone who likes mystery, murder, ghosts, friends, and still the overbearing mother!
So far all of Morgana Best's stories leave me with laugh out loud moments. I love her depictions of small town life in Australia.

Laurel's mom Thelma is so much like my mom in terms of being nosy, bossy, melodramatic and goofy, that I can't stop laughing at the mother-daughter dynamics in the story. Though in my case, it's my mom who claims to be able to see ghosts from time to time. Despite her faults, I adore my mom for the colors she brings to my life and so I equally treasure the horrifically narcissistic Thelma for her antics that break me up with laughter.

I love all the ghosts and how they literally pop up to startle Laurel and Basil. Ernie is adorable.

My only concern about this story is that my version seems to messed up. There seems to have been a chapter or sections left out that explains who some of the characters are and one of the early chapters pops up again as a later chapter and breaks up the sequence of events at a crucial time.
I really like the way this author writes. I have read all three books in the series and enjoyed them for the most part. Most of the characters are three dimensional and "real". If these books have any down side to them it's the character of Laurel's mother and the two men that want Laurel for their wife. While I have no problems with Laurel's mom being a religious fanatic, I do have problems with the way she puts her daughter down at every turn. I also have a problem with the way the mom has no boundaries and just walks into her daughter's place of business and tries to take over. The two arrogant and "won't take no for an answer" men that the mom keeps trying to hook Laurel up with are also very disturbing. The pace of this book is great. The authors prose is great and Laurel and her accountant are well written. The ghosts are believable and well written but I quickly grew peeved at the mother in the first book and it only got worse in the second and third books. I kept waiting for Laurel to truly answer her mother back and take out restraining orders on the would be suitors but so far...she just keeps letting her mother do what she does. I understand respect for your mother but that respect has to work both ways and the mom does not give Laurel any respect and is constantly putting her down...and unfortunately that grows old very, very fast! Still ...if Morgana Best brings out another book in the series, I will buy it. Why? Because I appreciate an author who can define her characters so completely and whose plots are interesting. Perhaps I have a problem with the mother because I am an elderly woman which could also be the reason why I want Laurel to grow a back bone and some self esteem and stop letting three people get away with trying to run her life. )
