I liked this book because Mackey takes the broad perspective of how the laws came to be, rather than a dry treatise detailing the content of the laws.
These are strange options to chose from since it is a non-fiction book. The book was informative, which is exactly why I bought it.
purchased because i was curious about massons. Good read
Mackey is an excellent writter. i got this book because i wanted to read more on the landmarks, i'm not really interested in masonic law tho. i perused this book pretty thoroughly but did not find a section of the landmarks. so therefore the rating.
You need to take into account WHEN this book was written and the topic. It is highly informative and perfect for what I'm looking for.
A extremely well written book. One that I will have to re-read again and again to fully understand. Masonry is a lifelong study and practice. This gives a glimpse into the Principals of what Masonry is about
Senior Deacons and Junior Wardens in Texas lodged should read this book to learn the intent, context, and underlying purpose of the Constitution and Laws of the Grand Lodge!
